Elsie Irene Hobaugh, 80, West Lebanon, died 11:45 a.m. Monday in St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette.
Mrs. Hobaugh worked as a bookkeeper for Harrison Steel Casting Co., Attica, and later for Williamsport Community Hospital, retiring in 1985. Her memberships included West Lebanon Christian Church. She was a 1941 West Lebanon High School graduate and graduated from Danville (Ill.) Business College.
She was born July 9, 1923, at rural West Lebanon, to James and Florida Lape Jones. She married Walter Harold 'Pete' Hobaugh on July 5, 1952, at West Lebanon. He died Aug. 23, 2002.
Survivors included two sons, Michael, West Lebanon, and Jim, Columbus, Ohio; three sisters, Ethel Brenner, West Lebanon, Louise Myers, Danville, Ill., and Helen Jean Darnell, Sun City, Ariz.; and five grandchildren.
Three brothers, infant Robert Lee, Everett and James Jones; and three sisters, infant Marjorie Jones, Martha Sharpe and Norma Hobaugh, are deceased.
Funeral services are scheduled 2 p.m. Thursday in West Lebanon Christian Church, with the Rev. Bruce Thornsbrough officiating. Burial will be in West Lebanon Cemetery. Friends may call two hours prior to services Thursday in the church. Grady Funeral Home, West Lebanon, is in charge of arrangements.
